Ingredients List

  • ½ cup beeswax pastilles (or finely chopped beeswax)
  • 3 tbsp coconut oil (melted)
  • 1½ tbsp olive oil (or sweet almond oil)
  • 1 tsp cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  • 16 drops peppermint essential oil
  • Optional: 2–3 drops vitamin E oil

Recipe

  1. Set up a double boiler. Add beeswax, coconut oil and olive oil; warm gently until fully melted.
  2. Remove from heat. Stir in cocoa powder until smooth, then add peppermint essential oil (and vitamin E, if using).
  3. Pour immediately into clean lip balm tubes or small tins/jars. Work quickly—balm sets fast as it cools.
  4. Let cool at room temperature ~1 hour until firm.
